Haven’t heard of this myself. Can you duplicate this? How are you offloading? (i.e. through a PowerBook G4; using a Dual Adaptor with a MacBook Pro; etc.) If you’re using a Mac, have you tried repairing the permissions using Disk Utility? Can you unlock the folder?

Yes, it did it again today. I’m using MBP OSX 10.5.2 with a Duel Adapter using HD Log Gold to offload (Dan sent me a temp version that works with 10.5.2 that doesn’t crash the system!)

Maybe that is the issue…I’ll see when the final update of HD Log comes out and try again. All the footage seems to be there, but the contents folder does not have the lock. If I go into properties, I’m able to lock it….very strange.

I have noticed the lock sometimes, but it has never interfered with the import into FCP.

Do the cards have a lock function like a cassette?
I used to call this the idiot button, cause on a 3/4″ tape it was on the bottom and easy to forget about.

Yes, the cards can be locked by flipping a little switch on the end. For safety, you want to lock the cards whenever you’re downloading footage. But that lock wouldn’t affect the results of the download – only prevent anything being written back to the card. You’d need to unlock the card before reformatting it or, if using a computer, dragging items to the trash and emptying it.
