Within a FinalCut 7 standard SD NTSC timeline, using a Motion master Template with 2 drop-zones, I set I/O marks on the 2 master clips intended for the drop zones, & drag the thumbnails to their respective spots within the template Control.

Only: The content slips, and the I/O marks are not respected.

The timelines we’re dealing with here are rather long-form: 60 – 90 minutes, but for what had been intended to be method to simplify rather simple “drag & drop” work, due to the slippage resulting in out of sync issues, the template’s proving to be an annoying albatross.

There does not seem to be a method to slip the drop-zones’ content within their control panel.

Could anyone shed some light on the issue?

Not sure what is causing it, but how about exporting the portions you want to use as self-contained Quicktimes (same codec as source) and then using those on the drop zones instead.

Definitely worth trying out; using subclips of solely the In to Out (even carefully matching the durations to the specific duration of the Master template in the timeline) didn’t work.
