I have placed 4 video clips on my comp screen so that each takes one quarter of the comp window…now i would like to zoom in (or scale) any of the individual clips but keep it restrained to its one quarter of the screen and not have it encroach on the other layers…
any recommendations on the easiest or best way to do this?
    thanks

Precompose the each clip into individual comp (LAYER > PRECOMPOSE) and do the zoom in the precomp, that way they will maintain their position in the main comp.

Or, you can duplicate the layer and use it as an alpha track-matte on the layer you’re zooming in on.
