connecting Canon XH A1 to FCP
I’m not sure if this post has been up before but I am having trouble connecting my Canon XH A1 to FCP. I have HDV footage and want to capture it. I connect the firewire cable to my computer but when I go to capture, FCP tells me it does not recognize a source.
Is there a step by step on how to connect this camera? I’ve looked at the FCP HD manual supplimentary and followed it but still nothing.

I am having the exact same problem. Did you figure out what to do? I have never had this problem in the past when connecting a camera to the software. Also, sometimes I will have the log and capture screen say ‘VTR OK’ and I can control the deck but the Preview is disabled and no video is seen. Please help….anyone?
