Confusion – G-Speed Raid Controller Slot location with Multibridge PCIe card

Both G-Tech G-speed es (raid controller) and BlackMagic Mulitbridge manuals recommend using Slot 4 as the recommended slot location for their cards. I’m currently using the Multibridge PCIe card in slot 4 and the G-Speed raid controller in Slot 3.
It seems Ok as is but I occasionally get drive dropouts on restarts and FCP seems to be a little pokey when editing after awhile.
These could be down to other factors but I was wondering if the current card configuration was a wise move?
If it helps, I have always set my Expansion slot utility to the second PCI Express profile, as specified by Blackmagic.
