Do I have to conform my hdv footage before making a dvd in idvdv or is conforming only applicable if I am outputting the final cut back to tape. Also if I stop the conforming process half way through and save before shutting down fcp can I open it again later and conform what’s left or do I have to start all over from scratch.
    Thanks.

Conforming is only for outputting HDV to tape.

If you stop the conform process you can’t resume.

Keep in mind that you lose a generation when conforming and printing to tape with HDV.
