Configuring system settings in FCP for 3 Internal Sata Drives – I have 3 seperate 1TB internal sata drives.
I am trying to figure out how best to configure system settings in FCP for 3 Internal Sata Drives – I have 3 separate 1TB internal sata drives.
I was thinking to just use Disk Utility to configure all 3 drives to be RAID 0 (Striped RAID set) i plan to have it backed up to multiple lacie 500 gb drives in case there is a failure so i dont loose any material. I just think it would be easier to point my fcp documents folder to one drive and not has the clutter and confusion of 3 drives on the desktop (besides the HD).
Does anyone have thoughts on this and can you advise me on how i would configure my FCP system settings to see all 3 drives if i left them as is – so that fcp looks at all 3 for media and such.

RAIDing them together gives you the fastest performance.

I wouldn’t recommend the Apple Utility Raid software. If your serious, get something like Soft Raid. Seems to be very popular around here. I’ve been using it for years and it’s been flawless.

Another option would be the CalDigit RAID Card.

This will allow you to hardware raid those drives, and give you RAID 5…protected raid…as an option.
