    Hi there . . . I’m bit of a noob . . . Can I create a confetti animation using a logo/icon as a confetti particle . . . if that makes sense. Is this possible in AE without a plug-in? OR is a plug-in that would help create this? Cheers G.

I think you might be able to use particle playground to do this, but I have never tried. I use and would use, trapcode particular. very easy to set up a custom particle, simply precomp a logo layer, keeping the dimensions small, such as 50×50 or 100×100 or similar. then change the particle type to texture and link it up. there are also a few presets for confetti-type sims within the plug in to save you time.

I just had a quick look, and you can set a custom particle in CC Particle World effect. change particle to Textured square for example and then input a logo file/precomp.

I will leave it to you to figure out the ‘particulars’ of how to use it though! I’m pretty sure it’ll do a lot of what trapcode will do.

    Good luck!
