Concertina Cloth
I am looking to find a way to show a theatrical drape open and close. In essence and plane concertina’ing with one side locked and the other “collapsing” into it. I’ve tried “Belting” but run into problems moving the indevidual points. Is there a deformer that would achieve this effect simply and quickly? If so; which one, and what settings would you guys recommend?

there are some older threads, do search for “curtain” but it looks easiest to make the curtain folded first then attach that to belt points on top that move apart to open the curtain.

I’ve done that in the past, but I’m hoping to find some way of having a control point that I can affect via espresso to have “Drape Open” / “Drape Closed”. Manually moving all the belt points seems rather twentieth century.. 🙂 -
how are you setting it up? Multiple separate points like a real curtain or one long belt on top? Both should be able to be controlled by xpresso

You could very easily set up an xpresso slider to control the scale of the belt object in this file: 2368_curtainpull.c4d.zip
