    Hi
I am looking for a solution for making fog in After Effects or possibly Cinema 4D. The kind of fog I would like is like the one you see on concerts.

I want to have a light lighting up my 3D after effects set and this kind of fog in between so you get nice shadows and such. Do you understand what kind of effect I would like to do?

Hope you got some great tips (and I bet you do, cause you’re the best ;))

It sounds like your looking for volumetric light. The closest you can get in AE (that I know of) is the Lux plugin from Trapcode. But that only takes into consideration lights, not shadow, unless someone knows some settings I just haven’t played with yet.

hi there,, i havent done what you are asking but… i think trapcodes particular would be the best way forward. i found this bit of footage that uses this plugin that is kinda doing what you are after (I think)

there are loads of tutorials on it, its probably similar to creating clouds, just with more evolution.
