    Hi,
I am running Avid DV Express Pro on a PC – it was working fine until I had some problems with my PC and needed to reload everything and add a new drive. Now, the computor can see the deck but when I try to capture although it reads the timecode of the tape all I get in the source window is black alternating every few seconds with grey – no picture and no sound. I am using a firewire connection. I have tested the connection by connecting my digital stills camera – the computor takes in the images with no problem. I have imported dv footage that I had already stored on the computor into Avid and it plays it with no problem. I have removed and reloaded the programme and still no joy. Any suggestions gratefully recieved (I am not overly technical so please keep the language simple!!)
    Many thanks

    What OS are you running?

What version of XPress are you using?

What are your system specs (RAM, processor, etc.)?

    What deck are you using?

I’m running Windows XP, Xpress Pro, 2 hard drives – but solved the problem now. Uninstalled again + searched for all avid files not removed and manually removed them then reinstalled on a new internal drive.
    Thanks,
    Andrea
