Computer hangs during capture
Just wondering if this is a known issue?
I have been batch-capturing a large number of DV clips (+/- 150) off one tape, and find that the computer hangs during capture. Once this happens, I have to close the capture program and all clips captured that session are lost.
I solved the problem by capturing about 20 clips at a time, but it certainly is a problem. There is one tiny section of time code drop-out, but this isn’t a problem when I capture the smaller number of clips – so why would it affect me when I’m batch capturing a large number.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I have Vegas Pro 8 and am operating on Windows Vista.

Hi there again Bruce,
Unfortunately i have never really experienced the problem you
described…..So iam just relating some info….nowadays i use
“winDV” to do most captures. Yes winDV. It is an amazing little
tool that surprised me some years back when i started using it,
because i had problems with dropped frames and
some other issues from all other methods
and am still using it. This free little application does not hitch.Steve Rhoden

No, it does not capture HDV, i sometimes use CapDVHS for that.
