July 11, 2006 at 11:45 amWell after trying everything suggested and still having no success and after a number of re-installs of Shake and Compressor etc. I called Apple tech support (who were very helpful and patient BTW).
It seems that the version of Compressor that comes with FCP studio right up to 5.0.4 is incompatible with Shake 4.1. It is all to do with the framework files and Qmaster (which both Shake and Compressor use). You simply cannot use Shake 4.1 with anything other than FCP 5.1, which is the ‘universal’ version. July 11, 2006 at 1:31 pmWow! So I guess that is what is on deck for me too! Did you lose anything? I’ve never done reinstalled an OS. Should I back everything up to my other drive or does it only reinstall the framework files you referred to?
Sounds like a tons of work. What a bummer. But i’m happy for you that you’re up and running… Hopefully I will have the same results!

July 11, 2006 at 5:35 pmWould installing FCP 5.1 solve this problem without having to reinstall Tiger, etc….?

July 12, 2006 at 11:14 amI didn’t lose anything, but had to re-install mighty mouse, and shuttle pro as well. You have to have an extra disk for it to make the archive to. It re-installs the frameworks etc. then you have to reinstall all the FCP applications. All my data was fine… it took quite a while though.
