    1. Compressor’s Preview seems to be unable to display 16:9 content as 16:9. Checking “Square pixels” properly displaystrue 720×480, but unchecking it results in 640×480, regardless of the selected aspect ratio. The resulting file is 16:9 though, that’s good.

    2. Compressor’s Preview does not seem to preview the compression settings, it only shows any size changes, i.e. downsizing, cropping, etc. (I care more about this than the aspect ratio issue.)

Anyone else notice these? Bugs? Compressor 2.0.1 by the way.

The best way to render a preview out of compressor is to set an in and out and then encode it (say for 1 second).

Also, if you notice the two boxes at the top of the compressor preview box, you can hit the other one and get a correct PAR.

In other words, Preview is fairly useless. Fair enough.

Could’ve sworn I tried clicking those top right boxes and it didn’t work before – that’s why I bothered posting about it. Worked this time though, go figure.

    Thanks Jeremy.
