Me again. I marked the in/out of my 1 hr 7 m sequence and exported it using the mpg2 program stream with sound. The sound came out fine this time, except the file was only 52 minutes long. There was plenty of room on my hard drive for the 2G movie. I’m starting again. Any ideas?

How large was the mpg2 file? What’s your system setup (computer, OS, drives and how they’re formatted, etc.)?

Is your drive an external FireWire?
Make sure it’s formatted Mac OS Extended, and not FAT 32, which dies not support large files.

If you are in a hurry to make the DVD, export a reference movie from FCP and drag and drop it into iDVD. Oh wait, you can do that with DVDSP. DVDSP is not as hard as you think it is.

Crack open the manual and do some exploring.

This turns out to be a stranger problem. Compressor exported the whole thing after all, which I thought it did. But I had to burn it to Toast as a data DVD, and Toast did not burn the entire mpg file (although is said it did). I’m doing it again now and I’ll see what happens.
