  • Compressor changes size?

Posted by Sverker Hahn on May 28, 2009 at 9:32 pm

I want to create the best possible DVD-movies.

I export to ProRes HQ with size set to PAL 720×576 (1024×576).

Then I transcode with Compressor to get m2v movies and ac3 audios using “DVD Best Quality 90 min”.

Surprisingly the size of the movie is decreased to 720×404.

How do I keep the size to proper DVD PAL size in Compressor, that is keep the size it has in ProRes?

WHere are you seeing the 404 size? Don’t trust QT player, bring it into DVDSP and the inspector will show the actual pixel size.

    Michael, you are so right!

DVDSP shows that actual size is 720×576.
I use QT player to check quality directly after transcoding, instead of putting in footage into DVDSP and creating a disk image.

    Thanks, Michael.
