Compressor AC3 file
I am having a problem getting AC3 files encoded by Apple Compressor to play back correctly. Whether I make the AC3 file from 6 channel WAV printmaster file or use the “Add Surround Sound Group” function to make the AC3 file when I play it back on multiple sources the Front Left and Front Right channels are collapsed into the Center channel on playback. Is there something about the Apple Compressor AC3 encoding that might cause this problem. I have confirmed that my 6 discreet WAV files have been made properly. I am on Mac OS 14.2.1 and my CPU is a Mac Studio 2022 M1 Max.

I don’t do Surround Sound mixes, but a quick search through the surround sound section of the user manual may be a good start.

Most audio presets in Compressor provide mono and stereo channel configurations; some (like QuickTime Movie and Dolby Digital) provide more options.
