Thanks for this review of the turbo.264, Richard. I tried this product about a year ago and found that the output quality was lacking… probably since it apparently can’t do 2-pass encoding.
Of course, you mention using it for encoding dailies, review clips, etc., and for that it may be adequate. I’m hoping that the quality issues have been rectified in the new turbo.264 HD, so it can also be used to speed final output. I would be interested in your opinion on this… or a full-on updated podcast covering the new product!
