Compression issues with S-log 3 footage low light
I am working on a music video and I am attempting a vintage creamy/hazy look by flattening the blacks heavy in the curves on 2nd node. First node is color corrected with Impulz slog 3 LUT and minor tweaks. I am pretty happy with the results when I watch in playback with davinci and when exporting a pro-res version. The issues arise when exporting the h.264 version for upload to web. I am getting serious compression chunks and ugly grey and black separation in areas that look completely black with little detail in the pro res.
This was my first shoot on A7s2 at Slog3 and have since learned that Slog 3 is terrible in low light. Also my first time working in Resolve so double learning curve going on. Since this project was more of an experiment with the camera at this point I want to be able to pull of this look while salvaging the final layoff. I know I can crush the blacks super heavy but don’t want that overall look for the entire video. If there is a way to isolate just the areas with the issue and pull out/darken that information that the compression is processing I think it would solve the problem.
I have attached a still for reference (link below). It really only shows up heavy when the monitor is turned all the way up.

Thanks!
