When working on my video in post, I’m noticing a bunch of compression banding occurring on background walls and flatter images (very similar to gradient ramp banding output in an 8bit color space).

    1) Is this something I can correct during on the camera?
    ** I’m using a 6D, 1080/24p IPB, Cinestyle Picture Style

    2) Is this correctable in post?
I’ve added a bit of grain in AE, and also tried sDeband from genarts and haven’t really solved it.

    3) Or is this just the way it is and I have to live with it or upgrade to a camera with a clean uncompressed signal that I can record?

I’ve read every thread I can find on the subject and haven’t found a solution yet.

    Thanks.
