    Avid MC5…

So…I’m trying to export my project so that I can encode it for the web so that I can get notes from my producer. Main issue is that I cannot export a QT Reference movie as more than a few clips have been brought in via AMA. So no QT Ref, No QT Ref DV. So SEND TO QT Movie, same codec as source, and it looks fine, but when I take into Compressor (I have FCP and Avid on the same OS partition), and I use H.264…or anything…the video plays fine for a bit, but after a bit, I get a horrid image…attached.

I just realized something…the Avid sequence is full of mixed formats. 720p 23.98 DVCPRO HD mainly, but where it hits the problem, it is 1080p 23.98 DVCRO HD. And it never recovers after that. Still looks like poo.

I like a lot of things about Avid, but issues with AMA, and with exporting GOP formats as QT reference…

Ahhh…found what the issue is. Well, what is causing it. I have set up Qmaster as a Quick Cluster to use ALL of my processors in Compressor. Well, when I do that, I get the red image. When I don’t, when I just use the computer, or when I use my MXO2 MAX to compress, I don’t get that. So, I will use my MAX…and tweak the settings.
