is there a quick way or keyboard shortcut to re-centering the video in the composition panel after you’ve zoomed in or moved you’re view with the hand tool? I’ve accidentally lost where the video is even located at times…

A quick way would be to select the zoom level to be Fit Up To 100%. That’ll center it perfectly in your comp viewer.
