    Hi Everyone,

I need to composite a fake 3d object into a footage sequence using Vray. It has to be vray as it’s photo realistic.

This is how I would normally composite using normal C4D advanced render:

    – Apply footage sequence to C4D material

    – Apply this material to a background object and use frontal mapping, I would also apply the material to any shadow catchers required eg. walls and floors

    – I’d then apply a C4D compositing tag to all shadow catchers. In this tag I would turn off ‘seen by rays’ and ‘cast shadows’ and turn on ‘Compositing background’

This would then give me a composite to take into AE (with shadow, reflection passes etc).

My question is how do I do this if rendering through Vray? As the compositing tag doesn’t work and materials dont work in the same way.

Any ideas would be very much appreicated.
