is compositing in 4d plausable? is smart to key something out in AE and then put into 4d to composite the whole thing?……the problem is, when i put the the movie into a material, and put that on a plane, i can’t move the camera without disturbing all of the objects. is there a way to turn off objects so the camera doesn’t affect them?

    heres the thing:
AE key put into a material, put onto a “plane” object.
trying to composite this over a logo (make him look like he is sitting on it)

    the problem:
the AE key is 2d, the logo is 3d. when i move the camera to match angles, the 2d is distorted. i hope this makes sense…….

Well ideally you shot you’re guy with a real camera that matches your animated camera (vice versa actually, lest you get into difficult motion capture issues). Short of that, you don’t have any perspective to work with for your guy.

So in C4D or in AE, you can have the guy layer auto orient or point at the camera. This works in many situations and ppl often won’t notice the lack of perspective change.

So first I’d set a tag on the guy layer to always orient to camera and try your animation and see where that gets you.
