  • Composer Window Timecode Display Size

While I’m using Media Composer 5.5, I’m sure it pertains to all versions. Somehow I changed the timecode display above the source and record monitors so that it is no longer a bolded font. Using the “Edit” | “Set Font” commands does not effect this text. Does anyone know how to change this display? My aging eyes just aren’t dealing with this tiny display. Thanks

Granted, I’m on version 7 but set font adjusts that font size on my end. It’s contextual, so you need to click the composer window first so that it’s the active window.

UPDATE: Font size changes, not the actual font. Nevermind.

    Richard,
You would think that would be the case, but at least in V5.5 and lower, it isn’t. I can change the size and fonts of the sequence or source names, but not the timecode displays or center duration. Very frustrating, as I can’t find the setting for it. And I can see what I had on another system, which is the same font but bolded.

As I recall, the settings are tied to font and size for another parameter, perhaps the Bin font/size. Trial and error should pinpoint it.

After spending the worst part of an afternoon trying everything, including retrying the things suggested here and re-starting both MC and windows to no avail, I came in this morning, re-started per normal, and the displays in question were bolded again. Go figure.

Not sure if you are on Mac or Windows, Scott, but I think on windows, you can get some strange behavior if your system font mapping gets messed up.

FYI, Windows. Problem went away on its own.
