Complication
I am new at this program and had to dedit some video that I had recorded at a previous date. I couldn’t get the DVD burner to work, so I tried to rerecord the video back on the the DV recorder. I couldn’t figure it out. Any hints at what I should do?

Not sure what the question is, but are you trying to export to tape? If so File > Export > Export to Tape.

What I need to do is get the video back on the camera. I imported (or whatever it is called) the clips from the DV camera, cleaned out all of the mistakes, and tried to burn it to DVD. The DVD burner won’t work on the computer that I have and I can’t seem to get it back on the recorder. I don’t know if I have the capability to put it back on the DV tape. My teacher says that it’s possible but I just don’t know. -Amanda

Did you try what Aanarav mentioned? You didn’t mentione what kind of cam you are using and what area you are from?

We had tried what Aanarav had said but this afternoon about 2:15 p.m. I guess I will try it again. We are using Canon ZR20 and when that didn’t work we used the ZR60. It uses the same tape and the same cords, only the ZR60 is newer. They are both small cameras and nothing too fancy either but it does the job that we were needing it to do. As for the area??? I’m not quite sure what you are talking about unless you are wondering where in the United States I am working wiht this program. If that is what you are talking about, then my area is in the middle of nowhere in Texas, about 2 hours south of Dallas, and about an hour, give or take a few minutes, from Waco. -Amanda

Oh and by the way, when we tried what Aanarav said the whole Export to tape thing was gray, so that’s why it didn’t work. Now all I need to know is why it is gray. I really am a novice at this sort of thing. -Amanda

The reason for the area is that some overseas cams have DV-in blocked for tax reasons.
In “My Computer” do you see a cam listed under “Scanners and Cameras” if not make sure the firewire is connected, the cam is on in the VCR/VTR mode? if listed in My Computer check the following,
In Ppro, Do you have the proper cam selected? “Edit” dropdown menu-> Preferences ->Device Control -> have “DV/HDV Device Control” selected in the Devices window, In the “Options” window next to the Devices window, you select your cam brand and model, if model is not listed one of the standard or alternate selections, you will also notice a Check Status: button, to the right is either Online or Offline,??
