  complicated retiming question

  hi,

  i’m new to the forum and relatively new to motion (certainly motion 3) so bear with me here.

  i have a clip with a regularly blinking light that I want to retime so it syncs with irregularly beeping audio. the audio has short and long beeps (morse code) and i want the light to fluidly match up with its timing. here is an example of the clip i’m working on:

  now, i’m doing this in motion 3 instead of aftereffects because i heard some of the new features could really simplify my task (also i want to take advantage of the optical flow). the audio parameter is certainly very powerful, but i’m just not sure what filter (scrub?) to attach it to in order to get what I want. any help is appreciated. thanks!
