Generally when I upload my short clips to YouTube I use the YouTube export setting in the Share function on Final Cut pro. I do it cause the file size is manageable and the quality is exactly what I need.

Right now however I have a 20 minute video and this method is gonna pull 1.2GB for the video. That’s much too big as I dont want ppl to have to stream that much bandwidth.

Im looking to get the 20 minutes into about 400MB or so. Also trying to maintain as much quality as I can. Anybody have any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Joe

Don’t worry about the size since youtube has three different bandwidths for your clip. 1.2 GB you mentioned is source for them from which they convert. Even in HD mode you’d get less bandwidth than you’d uploaded. You should worry about the quality and leave everything else to youtube to deal with.
