  • Compatible codec to replace Cineform Aspect HD for Premiere Pro 1.5.1

I am using Premiere Pro 1.5.1 with the Matrox RT.X100. Am able to use the HDV project settings. Seems to work great with the Matrox card. I can render the project out to an avi file. I want to convert this file to a H.264 file for internet use. Would like to output to H.264 out of Premiere Pro. Does anyone know if there is a compatible codec for Premiere Pro 1.5.1, other than cineform Aspect HD? Received an email from Cineform tech support and this codec is no longer available, and no updates either.

Have tried several conversion software programs and they are unable to convert the avi files out of Premiere Pro 1.5.1. One program will but it only imports the audio not the video.

    Thanks

The likely reason you aren’t seeing the video in another application is to do with the version of the cineform codec not being supported. You might need to output another file from the version of PPro (with cineform installed) into a different codec like Quicktime Animation set to 80% and use that.

Thanks Jon for your response. I thought there was only one version of output from the Cineform Aspect HD codec and that was AVI. I’ll have to go back into PPro and check on the Quicktime Animation.

I’ll let you know if that works.
