Comp made in AE does not look the same in PP
In AE I made a comp dealing with text and shadows. The shadows were designed to go from very diffuse to very solid, yet in PPCS6, the shadow quality looks nothing like it does in the AE comp and it doesn’t look proper when the project is exported either. Any clues?

tom, yo will have to give us more information. Is it an exported clip or dynamic linked? are you looking at it on your computer monitor or your ref monitor? what is your bit depth in the AE comp?
ther could be many reasons why the image looks different in PrPro than in AE.

Hey Kris… The comp was dynamically linked from PPCS6/AECS6. In AE, the bit depth was set to 8 but it makes no difference if I set it to 32, the diffusion for the shadows in the comp just aren’t there when you view it in either PP or when you watch the final export. I am looking at everything on my computer monitor.

In the AE comp is the resolution set to full, 1/2, 1/4 or auto. PrPro will use the resolution from AE in the DL clips. Before your final export make sure you change AE comp resolution to Full and your PrPro res fractional res is set to full.
You could also render out a small portion of the DL clip to animation codec or Prores4444 and then import that into the PrPro timeline to see if looks the same.
