Commotion won’t open on new machine woth WinXP sp2

Hi all,
I’ve got a new system with windows xp sp 2 and everytime i try and start Commotion I get a ‘Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime error and the startup aborts. I do have another machine which I have added sp2 to after commotion was installed and that works, but this is a brand new machine and no go.
I have tried re installing Commotion still no go.
Any help appreciated

No clue… it’s amazing that it still works in general.

I suggest calling Pinnacle tech support and “demand” support. It will be interesting if they even know what Commotion is.

you big cynic, of course the people at Pinnacle know what commotion is ‘something they bought and left out in the desert sun to shrivel up and die’

Try running windows update and making sure to update your .net runtime – might do the trick.

Buy a Mac, it was about the only pleasant surprise of my recent conversion to FCP and Macs.

After years of ‘clunky’ commotion on windows platforms (xp sp1, latest) Commotion Pro just flies on a new dual G5.
