Colour Problems in Final Cut Canvas
Hi Folks,
Just wondered if anyone had any ideas why my Timeline canvas displays such odd colours.
I’ve taken a snapshot of the screen and you can clearly see the difference in displaying images from the log & Transfer window, to the edit line.If it helps, I’m working from P2 imported footage DVCPRO HD from a panasonic HVX200.
Hope you can help me solve this.

Neither are accurate. Log and Transfer even less than the editing interface.
All these are designed to do is show you what you are doing. Log and Transfer viewer so you can see your footage and choose what you want to import. Viewer, Canvas…so you can see what you are editing. If you want PROPER color…to see what you really have…you need an IO device (AJA, Black-Magic, Matrox, MOTU) and an HDTV.
The Canvas is close…depending on how well your computer monitor is calibrated, but not spot on. What is purple on my broadcast monitor is actually a lot bluer on my canvas.

It does generally seem to be a hell of a lot darker and crushed than it should be, against say, an exported version.It seems a bit odd that there’s no adjustments for calibrating the display in these viewers.
