I dont know exactly how to explain this malfunction, please see picture attached. Basically the guy had a jacket with really tigh horizontal and vertical lines. When I was filming everything was looking good on the small screen of the camera…but when I imported the footage there is this “halo” of color just messing around his jacket: Any possible idea how to get around it in post? Black and White it helps (but I cant really have the video in black and white!)….

I was filming on Canon Mark II 24-70mm lens.

Any help would be really appreciated!

What you’re seeing is called moire, that many DSLR cameras suffer from, especially the Canon T2i/T3i/T4i/T5i/7D cameras.

Without investing in a $400 anti-aliasing sensor filter, all you can do is move your camera closer or farther away and see if this fixes your problem.

The new Canon 5D Mk3 shows very little moire, as do the Panasonic GH2 and GH3 cameras. ( the newer GH3 has more moire than the older GH2 does )
