I’m having this issue where I send my photoshop file to someone via the internet and when he opens it the colors look drastically different. We think this is a color profile issue– what color profile should we be using? We don’t know anything about the various profiles offered so cannot make an informed decision.

Does anyone have suggestions on how we can calibrate our monitors? Are these two separate issues? Please, I’m at the end of my tether trying to figure out what’s going on. We can’t decide if the color is wrong or if the color profile is making it wrong.

    Hi,

Whatever profile you are using, the person on the opposite end should opne it with the same profile. If you are sending a RGB picture, Adobe RGB (1998) should be fine. THe person who is opening you files should have “Preserve Embedded Profiles” set in Color Settings.

If the image still looks different, than one or both of you need to calibrate you monitors (or get new ones if they are really old)
