When using Sony Color Match, is it best that it be placed in the front of the FX chain where I have levels, color correctors, and curves after it?
    Thanks

    Roger, what are your thoughts?

Not sure. That’s why I asked because when I moved the order around, I could see no visible change although I do know that the order plays an important part.

Sure. I realise, from just that one reply of yours, you know a lot about the workflow, and yes, the Link position in the Chain can effect one from the other, and over the time I’ve spent colour correcting my own stuff I’ve gotten pragmatic and do colour correcting first and then matching. By doing it this way I know what I matching plus the matching COULD approach each other better – yes?

I don’t believe there is a right or wrong answer here but I would be inclined to Color Match the footage first and then add Levels, Curves, etc. to color grade. Just make sure that the footage you are matching to doesn’t have any other FX applied either. In other words, Color Match just the footage without any FX on either, then apply any other corrections to both.

Yes, good advice. I’ll take off all FX on the event to which the match is going to be applied.

Its best the color match is applied on an event by itself.
Though the order of what you have will make no difference where
    what goes.
