Do you guys ever touch the gain, gamma and offset in the color correction box? Or do you guys just use color curves? Also, does the order of the effects matter (like color curves should be first, then at the right is the color correction)? Does it change the effect?

Also, while you’re at it, can you throw in some color grading/correction tips? Some people use color curves and individually adjust the blue, green, red waves. While some people just use color correction. Do you guys add more than one color correction effect? Anyone uses the secondary color correction to grade?

I know I’m asking a lot here. You don’t have to answer all of ’em if you don’t want to. I’m just wondering what other people do because I just want to become a better colorist.

    thanks!!!

The order matters a lot. I like to start with curves, then color correction. Yes, secondary can be helpful, though it’s easy to go too far too quickly. Practice, practice, practice.
