[videobiker] “I read about a new Plug-in for FCP that would make color correcting a lot easier…can anyone tell me what it is called and where to find it?”

Are you talking about Silicon Color’s Final Touch? Apple just purchased the company and they will be re-releasing the product probably next year. Current pricing is $1,000 for SD, $5,000 for HD and $25,000 for 2K.

We own the HD version and it’s a bit clunky at the moment because they sold the company right before they were supposed to release the Universal version. So it sort of works right now on G5 machines and doesn’t work at all on our Mac Pro despite the release yesterday of the beta UB version.

The 3 Way Color Correction tool in FCP is outstanding though.

oh and just as a follow-up, it’s not a plug-in but a stand alone app. You send your timeline in XML format to the app to CC.

There is also Color Finesse. You can get it as a stand-alone program or as a plug-in for FCP and other programs. The plug-in is a wonderful add-on to FCP if you are looking for better color correction tools, but can’t afford to spend thousands. You can download the trial version and check it out.

    best regards,
