Color Correcting Clip on V2 effects color of V1? I need ti get around this.
So I have scene which requires some basic compositing, some keying etc.
I have my background on v1
actress in front of a greenscreen on V2
a fake audience in front of greenscreen on V3i have successfully pulled my keys for V2 and V3.. looks great.
I want to crush the blacks on my fake audience to make it more like a silhouette but when i go to color correction, and only have V3 highlighted, it effects the color of everything below it. How do i get it to only effect the clip on V3?

Step into the audience clip with the spectra matte (or whatever key effect you’ve used). Now apply color correction or color effect to it. (I did a quick test with both Color Effect and Color Correction and it seems to work fine)

thanks. I was trying this but didnt realize you have to keep stepping in and stepping in until you get to what looks like the original clip before spectramat was on there. Color corrected in there and its all good.
Does this same technique apply to avid fx? should i keep stepping in and stepping in until i get back to the original, then apply the blur effect for example ?
This is the first time im trying to do any real compositing in MC, as ive always used AE, but im finding i get much better keys with spectramat then with keylight in AE, and its all realtime until i really start piling on things like shadow.

You’re using Avid FX to apply blurs? I usually use the paint effect for that. I believe it will work the same way.
