I have a video where the woman’s face is very red and she broke out in hives. The client would like me to bring the red down, but is there a way to adjust a specific color of the video without changing the rest of the background?

How about a plugin that deals with facial blemishes?

And yes, you can bring down ONLY the red if you use the LIMIT EFFECT of the 3-way color corrector. Or use a secondary in Color and target only the face. Or do the same thing with Colorista 2.

Apple Color and Red Giant Colorista both have Power Masks for precisely this type of work. There are innumerable tutorials all over, including right here on the Cow, that should give you a leg up on how to use these features when grading.

You can also just bring down the reds with the 3-way color corrector.

    And/Or

Double up the layer, mask out the area (user feather also) in need of a fixin and apply color correction to that.
