    Hi there everyone!
what a beautiful morning here in the Quebec side of the world!

anyway, i`m sure this has come up before, so if it has please direct me to the right place 🙂

if now, i will be happy to get any suggestions.

I have this scene, there`s a lot of snow, it`s very dark. It`s black and white. There`s some blood on the floor.

Now what i would like to do is to colour that blood while keeping the rest of the scene black and white.

do u think i can do that with APP or will I need any other programs?

    thanks guys!!!

    You can do it.

This is usually achieved using the color pass filter. The problem with Premiere is that you can’t easily mask out areas where you don’t want the color to appear, so I feel After Effects is more suited for the effect. If this is for a nice red color blood, and you have nothing else that is red in the picture, you may be fine.

    Cheers,

Also important…how different is the color of the blood than anything else in the shot right now? Red is a color that is tough to separate from a brown or even a Caucasian skin tone if the image is dark enough.

The color pass filter works, but it does need a fairly precise color definition to work well.

Some primary color correction might be necessary before you can do this effectively.
