Can you apple-tab to the finder and then back to FCP?

[JeremyG] “Can you apple-tab to the finder and then back to FCP?”

I get the “FCP Not Responding” lockup once it starts. Haven’t been able to get it out of that once it starts. Good news is Color now holds on to the renders so you can always “Re-send” to Color if you lock up the project before saving.

have not seen that one, careful on the resend — you can corrupt the path to the renders when you resend them from the same project multiple times.

Is this on your clean install version? I found this possible with old Final Touch prefs on the machine, but not with a clean install.

To put it nicely, all things Final Touch were excorsized from this machine a long time ago.

I have this issue also every time i send from Color to Final Cut Pro. What works for me is as suggested above to Command-Tab to the Finder, but wait until the Kona 3 switches to the Multi Pattern, or Color Bars, or whatever test pattern you’ve got set up. I do this immediately once the XML import finishes in Final Cut Pro. I do no operations in FCP until I’ve done this. Once the test pattern goes on in the Finder, I then switch to FCP and work as normal, no need to quit Color. This works every time for me.
