I am working on a giant show that features 10 projected screens in a very elaborate layout. The show is cut in PP, but at a much smaller resolution, with more manageable sequence dimensions. Now we face the challenge of exporting to full, native resolution.
In After Effects (because I am an AE guy), I would precomp the whole show, scale it waaaay up, and then turn on Collapse Transformation. This basically reworks the render order of all the layers and retains the native resolution in the end.
Is there a similar way to do this in PP?

If we took the smaller sequence with all its footage scaled down to, say 25%, and nested it into another sequence and scaled it up to 400%, am I correct in assuming it would look like garbage?

Obviously this would be easy if I could port the project over to AE, but we’re not at picture lock yet, and any changes in the edit will really screw up an AE timeline.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Is there anything stopping you from copying and pasting your work from PPro to AE and completing the work as you describe?

If you think of the editing interface as the best way for you to sequence your content and AE as the best way to finish your process…

it’s all just media objects in the end and using the right tool for the right manipulation….

just cuz your cutting in Ppro doesn’t mean your locked in there….
