codecs for vfx
When editing in final cut using an apple prores 422 codec, then importing “vfx” files from adobe after effects exported as animation files, they get a little lighter than other files used in my sequence.
Why is this happening, and does anybody know the preferred codecs when exporting to, and importing from after effects?

Try not changing codecs from what your sequence setting is. So in this case export as ProRes files.

Thank you Jerry, but I was wondering if that wouldn’t decrease the quality of the final shot used in the film?
do you know if PNG-sequences might work, or by using a apple prores 444 codec would help me in the same way, as to lose less quality in the shot and maintaining the same light as the original shot when importing it back into Final Cut? -
Nope. When you put anything in a sequence, the sequence will render to that codec anyway…
