Codecs for vegas pro9 32bits on vista 64bits
Posted by François Lutz on October 21, 2009 at 3:19 pmHi everyone,
I’ve got a lot of problems with rendering in .avi file “The Selected codec does not support the current render settings” (with x264fw, xvid, h264, huffyuv and a lot of others codecs) on my sony vegas 9 pro 32bits in vista 64bits
I’ve installed a lot of codecs package, but nothing changes
What sould I do? Installing 32bits-codecs or 64bits-codecs ?

October 21, 2009 at 8:24 pmSome codecs have limitations. That doesn’t mean that they don’t work… it means you asked them to do something that they can’t do. (e.g., ask a DV codec to render 600×400… it can’t… it can only render 720×480 (for NTSC) to conform to DV).
What are you trying to do?

October 31, 2009 at 11:31 pmHi,
sorry for my very very late answer….
I’m using a 960×540 project, framerate 40fps
I just select as option for size and framerate the current projet settings
Thanks for answers 😉

November 1, 2009 at 12:29 pm40fps is an odd frame rate and may be what’s causing the problem. How did you get 40fps footage anyway??? The standard deliver frame rates are 29.970 (NTSC), 25.000 (PAL), and 23.976 (24p). Try one of those.

November 12, 2009 at 9:37 pmHuffyuv is one of the codecs that will support any size and any frame rate that you want. Why don’t you just render it back to Huffyuv?
I guess the real quastion is… How do you want to deliver this footage? YouTube, DVD, ??? That will determine what frame rate to use and an appropriate resolution and codec.

November 13, 2009 at 4:14 pmI just want to make a movie from this game with ~350Mo size for 7min length with 40fps and a perfect quality 🙂
But I’ve found now something strange :
I’ve just installed the new K-lite mega codec pack, and my footages are all black (vegas doesn’t see it anymore… I don’t know). The only one who’s left is a footage accidentaly rendered in fullframe uncomrpessed (not huffyuv)Anyone got all the solutions? 🙂
Thanks

Uninstall the K-lite mega codec pack. Never install any codec pack. Only install codecs that you know that you need.
