    Hello,

I am creating a video that is to be used in a web banner.

It is 11 seconds long, must include an alpha channel, and has to be 512×288 pixels.

I was told to provide a .mov that is under 1MB. I’m having a really hard time finding a codec that supports alpha channels and provide decent quality at this size. I’ve even tried exporting straight to flash (out of AE) and can’t get it under 3MB or so.

    Any ideas???

    Thanks!

Yeah, that’s going to be tricky. You’re aiming for a 93kbps data rate. You could try doing a PNG sequence, but even that might get too large. The only other thing I could think of to decrease file-size would be knocking down the frame rate to 8-12fps.

    Adobe CS4, Apple FCS3

FLVs support alpha channels, and can be rendered straight from After Effects. If this is going to be a web banner, thats probably what they need anyway, so I would render straight to FLV.
