  Closed Captions srt file not viewing correctly on youtube (html visible & timings wrong)

  Hi all,

  I’m a newbie so apologies if I am not describing this problem correctly.

  I have created closed captions in Premier Pro CC (using a MAC) and exported the sidecar .srt file but when I add it to the youtube video the timing is off by about 3 seconds and also all the html code is showing.
  I need to provide the client with the video and the closed caption .srt file as they will upload themselves, so editing the .sct directly on youtube is not an option.

  I have tried the captions in CEA-708 and teletext (as one tutorial mentioned youtube works with teletext).

  I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong…
  Any help appreciated!
