Closed Captioning DIY (can of worms?)
A client just asked if I was able to do closed captioning, and after telling him I’m sure I’ve seen that as a tool in SVP10, I was delighted to see how easy it was to add CC to a timeline.
That’s about where the delight ended, seeing as the only place I can actually see evidence of closed captioning is on my Vegas timeline itself. The searched threads on this appear to have a common theme of, “It’s hard, and wide open for headaches.”
My client typically uploades HD MOV/H264 and MP4 files to local stations. I’m just trying to determine if I should respectfully un-volunteer myself for closed captioning as one of my many offerings and save my sanity?

No true. Open the Overlays option above the video preview and select Closed Captioning CC1 (Primary) and you’ll see the captions overlay on your video.

Not if you have VASST Caption Assistant. It makes closed captions simple and you get support from VASST to help you through it. Most post houses charge more to caption a show than the price of Caption Assistant so it pays for itself after the first job. 😉
