  • Cloner Object – Visibility of Handles (yellow dots)

Posted by Alessandro Carlino on April 21, 2014 at 8:07 am

    Hello everyone,

Finally I became a member of this great community. Hello.

    My question:

I have multiple cloner objects in my scene and the “yellow dots” (tool handles) which allow me to manipulate the distance of the cloned objects can get confusing.

I there any way to turn them off for certain cloner objects or maybe just have them visible on the active cloner object?

I tried turning off visible in viewport or deactivating them but the only way to get rid of the dots is to either delete them or convert them to an editable object. All i want to get rid off are the yellow dots on non selected cloner objects while keeping the cloned objects in the viewport.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance and have a great time!

They used to turn off when unselected but now that you point it out I see it started in 14 and continues in 15. Seems to be a display problem with those highlight handles, turning off OGL does not help, uninstalling all plugins does not help. I’d report it to Maxon Support (I will too since it’s probably better to have multiple reports)

I got a response from Maxon Support and they have reported this as a viewport bug to the developers

Has anyone had any success in being able to change the visibility setting for cloner handles? They’re driving me bonkers…….

    Thank you Brian.
Then I must admit to be scratching my head, and knitting my brow…. I have all cloners as “not visible in editor”, yet the little fellows are still showing (in V16).
Could you guide me to how to make that work please?

the handles should show if the object is selected even if visible in render is off. That’s true for the parametric objects as well – but should disappear if not selected (that’s what was broken in 14/15)

    Thank you Brian,

But I’m still seeing the yellow dots even with nothing selected.
    Hmmm……
