  • Clips show media offline but it isn’t

I started working on a project yesterday. All my media was fine. Today I opened the project without turning on my external drive which has the media. Of course, everything was offline. So, I quit out of Final Cut, turned on the drive and reopened. In my selects bin, I am viewing my clips as large icons and some of them say media offline. When I click on those clips it will go away but then others say they are offline. Same thing with the clip icons in the timeline. The actual media is never offline though. Why is it doing this and how can I make it stop? I tried reconnecting the media, even though it is connected, but that didn’t help. I tried restarting too and that didn’t help. I can work with it like this. It’s just annoying.

Trash your thumbnail cache which is located where ever you have pointed those preferences to. it’s usually the same place as your FCP Documents folder.
