I created a new Event, imported some media into it (a QT movie, some PNG still images, an MP3), and used several of these in a new Project. A few days later, I noticed that FCPX displays only the MP3 clip in the Event Browser. I created some new Compound Clips in my Project and stored these in the same Event…but FCPX does not display them in the Event Browser.

What happened to all the clips in this Event other than the one MP3 clip that FCPX does display in the Event Browser? And, how do I get them back again so that I can use them in future projects?

2 things. Make sure you have “all clips” selected in the upper left corner of the event. And in the upper right, there’s a search field. Make sure there’s nothing there. Not even a space. If you inadvertently typed a space in that field all looks ok, but only clips with a space will show. Which might be your one mp3.

Doh! Silly me…I had an entry in the Search field, and didn’t notice it. Thanks for the advice! The MP3 was the only clip in this event that matched the search term. Once I cleared the Search field, Voila! FCPX displayed all of the clips in this event.

    Thanks again!

I once had a space. Took me awhile to figure it out cuz it looked empty.
